About the Evidence-Based Practice Conference

Hosted by the Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI), the Annual Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Conference is made possible with funding from the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) and Judicial Branch Court Support Services Division (CSSD).

2026 will be the 18th annual EBP Conference, bringing together nearly 500 behavioral health providers, policy stakeholders, school personnel and administrators, DCF and CSSD staff, and other child-serving professionals from across Connecticut. The conference features speakers and workshops on a wide variety of children's behavioral health practices and topics, tailored to a range of roles and settings. Many workshops are led by Connecticut EBP practitioners generously sharing what they've learned with their peers.

In this video, hear from last year's conference participants about what makes the EBP Conference unique:

The Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) is a nonprofit organization providing a bridge to better behavioral health and well-being for children, youth, and families. We collaborate with policymakers, providers, and partners to transform child-serving systems, disseminate evidence-based and best practices, and advance policy solutions that result in better outcomes for children in Connecticut and beyond.

CHDI is the statewide Implementation and Coordination Center for the dissemination of EBPs for children and youth including TF-CBT, MATCH-ADTC, CBITS, Bounce Back, and ARC. As the Coordinating Center, CHDI provides ongoing training, credentialing, quality improvement, and database management to providers throughout the state.

These projects are funded by the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Court Support Services Division (CSSD), and National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN).

Through this partnership, Connecticut has disseminated evidence-based treatments to more than 3,000 clinicians who have served more than 22,784 children since 2007.
